BEA Systems Adds New Veterans to Management Team; Announces Executive Appointments Including New Lead for EMEA Team

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- BEA Systems, Inc. , today announced several industry veterans have joined its executive team, including a new head of sales for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. In related announcement, BEA named Rob Levy, 45, as executive vice president, new products strategy (See press release titled "Industry Veteran Rob Levy Joins BEA Systems as Executive Vice President of New Products Strategy").

Effective immediately, Peter Stanley, 47, has been named senior vice president, EMEA sales and operations, BEA Systems, Inc. Stanley most recently served as vice president of sales, United Kingdom, Ireland and Africa. He was previously the vice president Northern EMEA for Broadvision, where he drove company sales and marketing operations for the EMEA region. In addition to rebuilding field operations in the region, Stanley increased revenue sequentially quarter over quarter and was recognized as the leading sales executive at the company's Global Leadership Council. Stanley replaces Andrew Dutton, former senior vice president of EMEA, who recently left the company to pursue other interests.

New Executives help BEA addresses growth and industry change -- Alan Button, 57, joins BEA as senior vice president of the Worldwide Partner Program. Button was formerly senior vice president of sales and marketing for Pearson Education/Pearson Digital. There, he facilitated the consolidation of nine acquired companies and streamlined operations of a new business unit. In addition, Button has experience in operations management, sales, marketing and team building. Button will report to Tom Ashburn, president, worldwide field organization, BEA Systems, Inc. -- Kelly Collins, 41, joins BEA as vice president and general manager, Federal Sales. Collins was formerly the vice president of Government & Homeland Security for General Electric where she managed a $300 million business. In addition to working with Capitol Hill to educate them on several security gaps in the aviation security market, Collins worked closely with the Department of Defense.
