Mayor Chuck Reed recognizes company for leadership in environmental conservation and driving innovation throughout Northern California.

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Jensen Corporate Holdings, Inc., a leading provider of landscaping construction installation and maintenance services in Northern California, received a commendation from the City of San Jose for its corporate and environmental contributions. The commendation applauds Jensen for its high ethical standards, employee involvement and environmental awareness that drive forward key San Jose Green Vision goals.

In 2007, the San Jose City Council adopted its Green Vision, a fifteen-year plan to "transform San Jose into a world center of Clean Technology innovation, promote cutting-edge sustainable practices, and demonstrate that the goals of economic growth, environmental stewardship and fiscal responsibility are inextricably linked." Citing Jensen's groundbreaking work on eco-friendly projects like the Living Roof at the California Academy of Sciences, Mayor Chuck Reed and Councilmember Kansen Chu presented the commendation to Jensen President and CEO, John Vlay, on August 25, 2009 at City Hall.

"Jensen Corporate Holdings is an employee-owned company that continues to fuel innovation through its new technologies and construction operations here in San Jose and throughout the state," said Mayor Chuck Reed. "Jensen's solutions help optimize energy output, reduce operation and maintenance costs, contain risk, and increase return on investment."

Added Councilmember Chu, "Jensen has again been recognized by the California Landscape Contractors Association with many regional landscape awards, not only for their size and revenue generation, but their unique business strategy. It is great to have companies like Jensen here in San Jose with over 400 employees, nearly half having a vested interest in the company."

Founded in 1969, Jensen is a leading provider of landscape construction and maintenance services. Based in San Jose, California with nine branch offices, Jensen serves clients in the public and private sectors throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Santa Rosa, Livermore and Monterey Bay regions. Proud to be the largest employee-owned landscape firm in California, Jensen offers unparalleled customer service and expertise. The company's flagship projects include the Pacific Shores Center, Walnut Creek Veterans Memorial, the Living Roof at the California Academy of Sciences, and the headquarters of Apple, Sun Microsystems and Oracle. Where many organizations get into trouble, however, is that they try to have a broad and deep knowledge in each of these areas. This is a huge blow to an organization's productivity. By automating or outsourcing some of these pieces, such as databases, infrastructure, and networks, your team can instead focus on development, testing, and deployment. Further, organizations that focus their attention on these areas can eventually move to a test-driven development structure that condenses several l...

Never mind that we might not know what the future holds for cryptocurrencies and how much values will fluctuate or even how the process of mining a coin could cost as much as the value of the coin itself - cryptocurrency mining is a hot industry and shows no signs of slowing down. However, energy consumption to mine cryptocurrency is one of the biggest issues facing this industry. Burning huge amounts of electricity isn't incidental to cryptocurrency, it's basically embedded in the core of "mini...
