Lawson is well-recognized convenience store chain operating nationwide in Japan. The company has chosen to implement a Data Domain solution to bolster its backup and recovery processes efficiently, as well as to simplify its storage operations and management.

Key purchase decision factors for the Data Domain solution included its easy implementation into Lawson's existing backup processes and its EMC NetWorker® backup software environment. Energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, such as limiting the creation of C02 exhaust and minimizing data center power, cooling and footprint are important corporate initiatives for Lawson and, as such, the Data Domain solution's minimal data center footprint and effective storage utilization were also important considerations.
