Over the past year, the companies have worked together to extend and enhance Fortify's source code analysis tools to accommodate a code base as large and sophisticated as Oracle's software. Implementing rigorous source code scanning procedures throughout a product's lifecycle helps to reduce security flaws, speed discovery of potential vulnerabilities and ultimately enables more secure software. Oracle(R) developers will use the integrated tools to scan many tens of millions of lines of Oracle code.

"Companies cannot ignore the critical role security plays in their organization," said Gartner Research Director, Theresa Lanowitz. "It is more important than ever for customers and vendors alike to implement security measures in all aspects of their infrastructure, spanning application development to implementation. Key infrastructure vendors will benefit the software industry as a whole as they continue to advance their own security postures."

Oracle Secure Development Process

Oracle has more than 25 years of experience providing the highest available levels of information security to government and private industry. This commitment spans many areas, including secure development processes, independent security evaluations and the delivery of comprehensive security patch updates. "Security is an evolving process for vendors and customers. Over the years we have modified our security development processes to meet the changing security environment," said Oracle Chief Security Officer, Mary Ann Davidson. "Our work with Fortify is just one aspect of how Oracle is continuously working to strengthen its secure development lifecycle."

Disruption, Innovation, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Leadership and Management hear these words all day every day... lofty goals but how do we make it real?
