A new dimension of network security designed for Cloud providers, Telecom operators and large enterprises
18th April 2012 - In response to the increasing number and complexity of IT security threats that corporate networks are at risk from, including those created by the use of social media and the prolific use of mobile devices, Clavister today announced the launch of a new portfolio of high performance mobile and network security products aimed at enterprises, cloud and telecoms providers.
Designed to simplify installation, management and support, the new security solutions have been launched in tandem with an improved operating system with a more user friendly interface. Known as Clavister cOS, it has been released in two versions cOS Core and cOS Stream which replace Clavister CorePlus and SlipStream.
Clavister cOS Core introduces Application Control which will identify and control more than 1,000 apps such as Facebook, YouTube and Skype; and business applications such as Oracle Financials or Microsoft Navision. Clavister cOS Stream is designed for telecom operators and will optimize the likes of Mobile Data Offloading and Mobile PBN.
Peter Johansson, President and CEO of Clavister said: "Our mission is to design future proof products that protect large enterprises, cloud service providers, mobile and telecom operators from network security threats which are changing in their complexity all the time. The new product portfolio combats the very latest security and operational challenges facing these organisations, and offers next generation firewalls, multi-functional security and fully centralised management in one small device so taking up far less rackspace.
"With increasingly mobile workforces, and a trend towards employees using their own equipment to access company emails, contacts or calendars (bring your own device (BYOD)), businesses have to ensure the same levels of security apply to these remote devices as well as those in the office. This new product portfolio is designed to ensure the highest levels of protection in a compact device, while the process of installation, management and support is made far simpler.
"In summary, these solutions are based on good design, extreme performance and simplicity. I believe these three criteria are the key to unlocking a new dimension of mobile and network security."
Based on the same award-winning technology found in all Clavister products, the new portfolio provides security for a range of customer requirements:
Clavister Virtual Series - Designed for virtual and cloud environments
Clavister Eagle Series - Products for remote and branch offices
Clavister Lynx Series - Industrial and ruggedized products
Clavister Wolf Series - Products for enterprise and data centres
Clavister PolarBear Series - Telecom and carrier grade products
