LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwire) -- 05/08/12 -- Interop -- Global enterprises are leveraging Aryaka's WAN optimization as-a-service to better meet their data protection initiatives. Built on a dedicated, intelligent network, Aryaka's solution reduces the amount of data and the time required to transmit data between data centers and on-premise to cloud services. Using the compression, deduplication, Quality of Service (QoS) and TCP optimization technologies that are the cornerstones of its WAN optimization solution, Aryaka provides performance gains when replicating data globally. Enterprises deployed on Aryaka are now reusing data center assets for other business activities.
With Aryaka, the distance between data centers is no longer a constraint to data replication, network backup and disaster recovery. Aryaka customers and partners such as OpSource, a Dimension Data company and a provider of enterprise cloud and managed hosting, are using the solution to replicate data from East Coast to West Coast data centers. OpSource customers leverage Aryaka's dedicated and highly redundant network to turn expensive, single-use disaster recovery backup sites into active assets through near real-time data replication.
"One of the great things about the cloud, with its elasticity and flexibility, is that you don't need to have separate conversations with vendors about data replication and disaster recovery," said Jon Beck, senior vice president of Worldwide Channels and Alliances for OpSource. "Those discussions get merged. You're no longer forced to have assets at one end sitting idle waiting for a disaster to happen. You can be using additional capacity for data replication between two sites, but in the event of a disaster, you can spin up compute assets in the secondary site on demand."
Aryaka integrates with existing backup technologies and cloud storage providers to deliver rapid data retrieval and replication to the cloud, providing an off-site storage location for disaster recovery. Aryaka optimizes widely used enterprise data protection applications including NetApp® SnapMirror®, Oracle® Data Guard, Symantec Backup Exec and NetBackup, Microsoft® Data Protection Manager (DPM), Teradata® Backup Recovery and Restore (BAR).
"Disaster recovery and data replication are among the most complex and costly endeavors an IT organization undertakes," said Ajit Gupta, Founder, President and CEO of Aryaka. "With Aryaka's cloud-based solution, organizations are improving the efficiencies of their WAN to meet data protection goals and doing it cost-effectively."
