BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/13/12 -- Enterprise mobile application management (MAM) pioneer Apperian, today announced that the company has hired two seasoned business executives, Jeff Murphy as Senior Vice President Global Sales and Mark Lorion as Chief Marketing Officer. Both executives bring decades of software industry experience and a long track record of helping create new markets, build businesses and establish market leaders. They join the company as demand for its Enterprise App Services Environment (EASE®) platform accelerates. Mr. Murphy is tasked with leading Apperian's global sales team, while Mr. Lorion's primary responsibility will be defining and executing the company's go-to-market strategy.
"Apperian is at an exciting stage as a company and we're perfectly positioned to help the market take control of mobile devices within the enterprise," said David Patrick, CEO at Apperian. "We're enabling IT departments at major organizations to reap the benefits of BYOD without having to worry about security and as a result we're attracting top-tier talent, like Jeff and Mark, who see the potential Apperian has for deep market penetration and explosive growth."
Both executives have held several senior-level positions within technology companies and bring a wealth of sales and marketing expertise. Prior to Apperian, Mr. Murphy was Senior Vice President, Global Sales at Endeca Technologies. As a member of the leadership team, he played a key role rebuilding the sales organization and transitioning the company to a multi-business unit structure. This transition enabled impressive growth for Endeca in multiple markets and directly contributed to the company's acquisition by Oracle, its sixth largest acquisition ever at the time. Prior to Endeca, Murphy held numerous sales leadership roles at companies such as SAP, Oracle, Storage Networks and Yantra, and his involvement at those organizations directly contributed to rapid growth, record sales and noteworthy IPOs and acquisitions.
Prior to Apperian, Mr. Lorion was Vice President of Marketing for the Spotfire Analytics Division of TIBCO Software. Under his leadership, Spotfire was repositioned from a technical user product to an enterprise analytics platform and rapidly grew from an early stage venture to the leading provider in the space and eventually an acquisition by TIBCO Software. He also held senior-level positions at PeerDirect and NuSphere (both acquired by Progress Software), iConverse, an early mobile application development platform, and Accenture.
Together, Murphy and Lorion plan to bring the same passion, expertise and industry know-how to Apperian.
