SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/28/12 -- Azul Systems, Inc. (Azul), the award-winning leader in Java runtime scalability, today announced the hiring of three new vice presidents. Global enterprise sales executive Bruce Ericson is the new SVP of worldwide sales, Sun Microsystems veteran Anya Barski is the new VP of engineering, and marketing executive Howard Green is the new VP of marketing.
Azul Systems experienced strong growth in 2012, particularly in its focus sectors of finance, retail, insurance and SaaS. Azul has hired Ericson, Barski, and Green to support existing customers, boost the capabilities of the company's cutting-edge technologies and facilitate continued worldwide sales expansion.

Bruce Ericson, Senior Vice President of Sales, is an enterprise sales veteran with extensive experience running global sales teams that sell complex enterprise software products, including low-latency messaging middleware, infrastructure and SaaS solutions. Ericson has a solid track record of scaling sales teams and achieving aggressive sales targets.
He has served as the vice president of global sales in companies including NetBase Solutions, Real Time Innovations, Proceler and VenturCom (now Citrix). Ericson holds an MBA from Northeastern University and a BSEE from the University of Illinois.
Anya Barski, Vice President of Engineering, joins Azul as a proven Java industry veteran. Barski has nearly 20 years of multinational experience in a variety of engineering, development, QA, and customer support roles. Most recently, Barski served as COO of Advenira Enterprises, a breakthrough thin film technology company. Before that, she was the CEO of Yandex Labs and VP of Engineering at Yandex, Russia's largest Internet and search engine company. Prior to Yandex, Barski spent 11 years at Sun Microsystems in a variety of leadership roles building and running Java software engineering teams. During her tenure at Sun, she founded the St. Petersburg Development Center and developed it into a major global engineering site. Barski holds an MS in Physics from St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University.
Howard Green, Vice President of Marketing, has been with Azul since 2010 as senior director of marketing. Howard has more than 20 years of experience in marketing, public relations, and business development in Silicon Valley companies. Howard joined Azul from in-memory transaction processing pioneer Kabira Technologies (now Tibco), where he managed business development and partner programs. Howard also co-founded two startups and managed corporate and product marketing at companies including iPass, Corsair Communications and MicroModule Systems. He holds an MA from Columbia University and a BA from Columbia College.
