La Global Semiconductor Alliance annonce les lauréats de ses prix 2012

La Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA), voix du secteur mondial des semi-conducteurs, est fière d'annoncer les lauréats honorés à l'occasion de GSA Awards Dinner Celebration, le dîner de célébration des prix GSA 2012 à Santa Clara, en Californie. Les prix sont décernés chaque année aux entreprises de semi-conducteurs exceptionnelles à l'échelle mondiale qui ont fait preuve d'excellence grâce à leur succès, leur vision et leur stratégie sectorielle.

Le prix le plus prestigieux de la GSA, le prix « Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award », a été présenté à Sir Robin Saxby, PDG fondateur d'ARM. Chaque année, ce prix de leadership reconnaît les personnes, telles que son homonyme, pour leurs contributions exceptionnelles à la promotion du développement, de l'innovation, de la croissance et des débouchés à long terme du secteur des semi-conducteurs.

Les membres de la GSA ont identifié les lauréates du prix « Entreprise de semi-conducteurs cotée en bourse et cotée en bourse émergente la plus réspectée » en votant pour les entreprises qui sont les plus réputées dans le secteur pour leurs produits, leur vision et leurs opportunités futures. Le prix « Entreprise de semi-conducteurs cotée en bourse la plus respectée qui réalise entre 100 et 250 millions USD de chiffre d'affaires annuel » a été décerné à la fois à Entropic Communications Inc. et à InvenSense, Inc. ; le prix « Entreprise de semi-conducteurs cotée en bourse la plus respectée qui réalise entre 251 millions et 1 milliard USD de chiffre d'affaires annuel » a été décerné à Cavium, Inc. ; et le prix « Entreprise de semi-conducteurs cotée en bourse la plus respectée qui réalise un chiffre d'affaires annuel de plus de 1 milliard USD » a été décerné à Qualcomm Inc.

Le prix « Entreprise de semi-conducteurs non cotée la plus respectée » a été choisi par les membres de la GSA et présenté à Ambarella, Inc. Les autres lauréates sont Silicon Motion, Inc., lauréate du prix « Entreprise la mieux gérée financièrement qui réalise jusqu'à 500 millions USD de chiffre d'affaires annuel » et Broadcom Corporation, lauréate du prix « Entreprise la mieux gérée financièrement qui réalise plus de 500 millions USD de chiffre d'affaires annuel ». Les deux sociétés ont été récompensées pour leur démonstration continue de la meilleure performance financière globale basée sur des mesures financières spécifiques.

L'Emerging Company CEO Council de la GSA, des investisseurs en capital risque et certains entrepreneurs du secteur ont sélectionné la lauréate du prix « Entreprise à surveiller » en identifiant une société qui a démontré le potentiel de changer son marché ou le secteur de façon positive en utilisant la technologie des semi-conducteurs ou une nouvelle application pour la technologie des semi-conducteurs de façon innovante. La lauréate de cette année est Wilocity.

En tant qu'organisation mondiale, la GSA récompense les entreprises dont le siège est situé dans les régions Europe/Moyen-Orient/Afrique et Asie-Pacifique. Les lauréates sont sélectionnées par le conseil de leadership de chaque région respective et sont des entreprises de semi-conducteurs qui font preuve de la plus grande robustesse lorsqu'on mesure leurs produits, leur vision, leur leadership et leur succès sur le marché. La lauréate du prix « Entreprise de semi-conducteurs exceptionnelle d'Asie-Pacifique » est MediaTek Inc. et celle du prix « Entreprise de semi-conducteurs exceptionnelle de l'EMOA » est CSR plc.

Les analystes financiers en matière de semi-conducteurs Joseph Moore, de Morgan Stanley, et Vernon Essi, de Needham & Company, ont été chargés chacun de sélectionner une entreprise pour le prix « Entreprise de semi-conducteurs préférée des analystes ». Les deux analystes ont fondé leur décision sur des données historiques et projetées, notamment le cours de l'action, le bénéfice par action, les prévisions des revenus et la performance du produit. Morgan Stanley a sélectionné Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. et Needham & Company a sélectionné Silicon Laboratories pour recevoir ces prix.
