NEW YORK, Feb. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, today announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire the Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) practice of The Hackett Group (NASDAQ: HCKT), a global strategic advisory and business transformation consulting firm.
This transaction broadens KPMG's existing ERP capabilities, while further enhancing the firm's Oracle consulting services. Adding the deep and focused IT experience of these professionals to KPMG's Enterprise Solutions practice builds on the firm's ability to address clients' technology enablement and enterprise transformation needs.
The transaction is expected to close in the near term. Financial terms of the agreement will not be disclosed.
"We are excited about the impact these experienced ERP professionals will have as we continue to build a world-class Oracle technology enablement business," said Stephen Lis, KPMG's U.S. leader for Management Consulting. "These professionals come from an organization with a strong Oracle implementation reputation and will immediately expand our value proposition. In addition, KPMG will become The Hackett Group's preferred provider for Oracle ERP implementation services."
Stephen Chase, KPMG's service line leader for Technology, added, "This transaction complements KPMG's investments in our fast-growing business transformation capabilities, further building on our October 2011 acquisition of Optimum Solutions, an Oracle Platinum Partner. We remain focused on helping clients use technology to transform key operations, such as human capital management (HCM), finance and accounting, tax, business intelligence and supply chain management."
KPMG has an aggressive growth strategy that includes broadening and strengthening existing services; developing new solutions; acquiring organizations and professionals to complement and expand its capabilities; and building a significant Alliance portfolio to help clients meet their business needs.
