Cigna and Seoul-based Samsung have entered into a multi-year agreement to “co-develop health and wellness-related features built into Samsung’s S Health on Samsung’s major smart mobile devices,” the companies said in a media release. According to the World Health Organization, 360 million people globally and 38 million people in the U.S. suffer from some form of hearing loss. Nine out of ten cases can be treated with technology. Smartphones are making it possible for low cost, scientifically-validated mobile apps to augment or potentially replace established technology.
