SunGard Availability Services Announces Recovery Services Promotional Campaign at Scottsdale Facility

SunGard's Special Offer for Recovery Services Available at Newly Enhanced Scottsdale Facility Now Through September 30

WAYNE, Pa., April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- SunGard Availability Services has expanded its Scottsdale, Ariz. facility, providing customers with enhanced recovery services and managed IT services to help ensure their business systems and people are always connected. Increasing SunGard's presence in the West, this expansion reinforces the company's commitment to staying ahead of the availability needs of its customers in today's always-on business environment.

With close proximity to metro areas in California, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas, the strategically located Scottsdale facility offers customers in the West a full portfolio of highly reliable, multi-platform recovery solutions, eliminating the need to contract with a provider thousands of miles away. SunGard's Scottsdale facility provides advanced testing services that allow customers to do recovery testing remotely, eliminating the need for costly travel to and from the testing site.

As part of this expansion, SunGard has announced a special promotional campaign for recovery services offered at the Scottsdale facility. This offer is for a limited time only and ends on September 30, 2009.

Customers testing their recovery services at SunGard's Scottsdale facility can take advantage of one of the following promotional options:

  • Complimentary workforce continuity seats

This offer can be used for up to a maximum of 20 seats including desktop PCs, monitors and telephones, to provide workspace for employees that may need to relocate due to an outage. The offer is applicable for both new and existing customers for the length of the contract.

  • Complimentary SOS services

Applicable for Windows and Unix, this offer can be used for up to a maximum of 10 server images which are backed up and validated by SunGard for use during a systems recovery event when restoration is needed. This offer is applicable for both new and existing customers for the length of the contract.

As part of the 2009 Scottsdale expansion, SunGard has enhanced its midrange technology systems offerings, which broadens customers' testing and recovery options. The facility has also deployed a new IBM mainframe with tape and disk infrastructure, along with new command center infrastructure to support remote testing capabilities. The enhancements also include improved x86/Intel server offerings, Unisys equipment consolidated into a mobile platform, and a refresh of the facility's call monitoring system with Call Pilot. As part of this expansion, SunGard has increased its workforce in Scottsdale by approximately ten percent (10%).

In addition to SunGard's full portfolio of recovery services, Scottsdale customers can contract for managed IT services, which allow customers to host business systems and applications at the Scottsdale facility, rather than build and support their own data centers.
