Global enterprise software company Oracle said it has bagged
an order from Idea Cellular to implement
Siebel CRM applications, which will address problems arising of the telco's
extensive channel and dealer network and meet its fast-expanding customer base.
Idea's strategic outsourcing partner -- IBM -- would
undertake the implementation process across all channels and customer facing
departments in 11 existing and two new circles of operations, Oracle said in a statement
here.
The applications would enhance customer experience and
service delivery for its prepaid and postpaid mobile subscribers across the
country, it said.
Idea currently provides mobile services in 11 circles and
has about 22 million users. It plans to expand into two new circles - Mumbai and
Bihar.
"With Siebel CRM, Idea will have the ability to provide
a single customer experience, rapidly introduce new products and efficiently
manage sales campaigns," Oracle Asia Pacific Vice President (Communications,
Media and Utilities business) Ash Khalek said.
